Your tour starts in the morning; you will be picked from Marrakech and then drive south passing through the spectacular Tizi n’Tichka Pass(2260 m) to Ouarzazate. The narrow routes open views of High Atlas Mountain ranges and with Berber villages that seem to be built right into the slopes of the mountain.
When you get to Telouet Kasbah you can visit this old palace which was a fortress of the Glaoui family. Rest a while to indulge in a cooler then proceed on through Ounila Valley of beautiful cliffs and shades of green.
At noon, an iconic fortified village of Aït Benhaddou will be visited which is listed in the UNESCO list of heritage sites. Here you enjoy a walking tour of the kasbah exploring the details of the architecture which was used in the shooting ofGladiator. Following lunch in the village, Situated in Skoura Palm Oasis, you will relax in the vibes of a exquisite guesthouse which is nestled amongst the palm trees. Chill by the terrace and watch the beautiful sunset over the acacia trees in the middle of the desert.
Make sure to have a Moroccan breakfast before moving out to this relatively warmer destination for a morning stroll in Skoura Palm Oasis. This area appears to be very calm and is characterized by extensive palm groves and small, inconspicuous kasbahs which make a nature retreat.
After that, you will go to Ouarzazate – the city, nicknamed “the Hollywood of Africa” thanks to the large cinema studios and filming histories. A short stop for taking photos and for a brief visit of some of the city’s attractions such as the spectacular Taourirt Kasbah.
From here the ride goes through the Atlas Mountains. Stop for lunch with a Berber family in Tislday Village to taste traditional food and to listen about the life of the hosts. Later, you can take a one hour walk into the surrounding mountains, beauty and fresh air to breathe.
Finally at the end of your journey you will be back to Marrakech with few breaks on the way for refreshment as well as photo stop. Reach your lodging at night and finish a beautiful two day trekking.
